Despite those few people who didn't want Bad Bunny to perform at the Super Bowl LX halftime show putting on an alternative performance, the Puerto Rican icon broke viewing records. According to halftime show producer Roc Nation, Bad Bunny's show has now broken viewing records for the 24-hour window surrounding the performance.

And the number is huge! 4.157 billion views, in fact. That includes the 128.2 million people who watched the Latin star do his thing on the broadcast of the game, as well as on YouTube and other digital platforms. Moreover, the number has only grown since, and will continue to do so.

That is part of the unusual age we live in now. 30 years ago, a Super Bowl halftime performance might have surpassed 100 million views, but not have had the impact afterward, as many people didn't have a way to watch. Thankfully, the digital age has made things a lot better.

And make no mistake that what Bad Bunny pulled off was nothing short of spectacular. A couple got married, and he bore witness to the ceremony while doing the show. He had other impactful entertainers, such as Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin, join him on stage, allowed the world to see and clearly understand Puerto Rican culture, and the songs were excellent.

While the performer might not have unseated Prince at the top of the list for best halftime shows (no one may be able to do that), one could easily argue that Bad Bunny was among the top-five shows ever. He was worthy of being watched, and the show will remain vibrant for years to come.

He also might have helped the economy of Puerto Rico a great deal. According to Expedia, flight searches for the island surged 245 percent in the week following Super Bowl LX. How many chose to book flights was not readily known, but one can assume more did than in a normal given week in February.
