While Ben Folds has continued to tour and release solo albums, and the shows have been creative and nuanced, the last time his former band, Ben Folds Five, did a full tour was in 2013. If you are a fan, you're going to want to get ready to buy some tickets for 2027 shows.
The three-member group will do a limited run of concerts (at least, that is the initial announcement) in April next year, and all will take place in the American southeast (a couple are in Texas, but that's close enough). Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, October 23, at 10 am local time.

Ben Folds Five announce limited run of show in 2027
The new tour doesn't mean the group is getting ready to release new music, though. That could be the case, or this might be an ongoing celebration of their first album. That self-titled debut was released in 1995, but earlier in 2026, the group released a version of the debut for its 30th anniversary.
The band was formed in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, and released three albums between 1995 and 1999. Their fourth LP was released in 2012. The latter was a solid work, but not as good as the first two albums. Ironically, the 2012 release, The Sound of the Life of the Mind, was the band's highest-charting album in the United States, reaching No. 10 on the Billboard charts.
Many general music fans might know the song "Brick," but fans of Ben Folds Five understand how deep their catalog runs. Few songs are unworthy of multiple listens. Once you become a fan, you will likely be one for life.
As a solo artist, Ben Folds, who began as a percussionist before transitioning to piano, has released five albums. The most recent, Sleigher, was a Christmas-themed record, and it was released in 2024.
