Billy Strings does the one thing people are told not to do in concert

What did he do?

Billy Strings, the bluegrass, country, jam-band, whatever else you want to call him, great is out of commission for a bit. What he did during a recent concert in Charlottesville, Virginia, went beyond forgetting the words or melody. He did something everyone should avoid doing: He injured himself while trying a skateboard trick before his encore.

In fact, he broke his leg, and he will have to reschedule the rest of his spring dates. Thankfully, he didn't have too many dates left, but does restart his shows in July. Hopefully, he will be ready to play again by then.

One funny aspect came out of the injury, according to Strings. Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters offered Strings his "throne" that Grohl sat on during a run of shows in 2015 after Grohl had broken his fibula in a fall from the stage during a gig in Sweden in June 2015. Strings appears to have passed on the offer.

In a fairly lengthy post on social media. Strings wrote, in part, "Well, can’t say y’all didn’t warn me about screwing around on my skateboard!! Saturday night I walked off stage right before the encore I was all zazzed up from a really fun show. I grabbed my board and tried to do a trick I’ve done a million times (back 180) and landed awkwardly and broke my leg. I heard it snap over the screaming crowd!!"

Strings wasted no time rescheduling the shows, and tickets already purchased will still be good for the new dates. One can assume that the growing legend will not try any skateboard tricks at concerts in the future, but he will almost certainly make light of the situation somehow.
