The farewell show for Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath took place in July 2025 and was an amazing success artistically and commercially. The full-day gig could have been a complete mess, but musical director Tom Morello did an excellent job of putting all the pieces together. Literally.
Back to the Beginning set streaming records and will now get a theatrical release. For sure, the entire show will not be seen because that would be a really long film. But fans can get a good idea of what they will see, as the trailer for the release has been dropped.
The one-minute clip is, rightly, heavy on Ozzy, even more so than Sabbath. That is fitting, especially given what followed the concert. Ozzy died 17 days after the final show. He was miraculous in concert, and one should expect a lot of pre-show set-up for Ozzy to appear.

Even more positively, the tracklist for the film was also released. Depending on how the movie plays out (for instance, the tracklist might include snippets of songs without showing footage of a band performing the tune), Ozzy's appearances will be interspersed with other bands doing their thing.
In the reality of Back to the Beginning, Ozzy and Sabbath played last. Still, the farewell show was about and for Sabbath and Ozzy, so having them be front and center during the film was the right move.
The film will be released globally in theaters on October 28. Tickets are now on sale through the official Back to the Beginning website. The movie was directed by Ben Wainwright-Pearce, who has also done flicks like Taylor Swift's Eras Tour and George Michael's Faith Tour.
