CHVRCHES has carved out its own niche in alternative rock, beginning by sharpening a New Wave-type sound, but with 21st-century sensibilities. The Scottish group released four studio albums reflecting that sonic ability, but the latest, arriving in early 2027, will be something different.

Fans can already assume that is the case based on the first single from All the King's Men, which will be released on January 22, 2027, by Futures Music Group. "Roses" is far more guitar-driven and inherently edgier.

Not that what the trio put out before didn't have a certain edge, but their use of synths somewhat softened that. "Roses" is akin to what longtime Depeche Mode fans might see from their favorite band in concert, as opposed to the studio work.

CHVRCHES new album will feature a more guitar-driven sound

According to Spin, the upcoming album will be partly inspired by the UK's "darker social realities." The members of the band, Iain Cook, Martin Doherty, and vocalist Lauren Mayberry, have all spent a lot of time in the United States in recent years, but decided to work in person as a band in their native Scotland, instead of remotely, which should give All the King's Men more of an energy.

The album will consist of 11 tracks, with the first being "Roses." A few weeks after the record is released, CHVRCHES will go on a fairly expansive tour that will see the band do shows in the UK and Ireland, but the run of shows will start in North America.

The group's tour kicks off on February 13 at Franklin Music Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before heading west and finishing at the Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles, California. From there, the group will start their UK/Ireland tour in their native Glasgow on April 23.

Tickets for the tour begin as an artist presale on Tuesday, October 27, at 10 am local time. Fans can register for that by going to CHRVCHES official website by Monday, October 26.

The general public sale date is Friday, October 30, at 10 am local time. More information can be found on the band's official site and most other notable ticket sale retailers.
