After making a name for herself as one of modern rock's most prolific performers, Taylor Momsen of the Pretty Reckless is finally making the long-anticipated return to her childhood acting roots on the band's newest musical project.
Today, the Pretty Reckless announces they will be releasing a Christmas EP titled Taylor Momsen's Pretty Reckless Christmas on October 31 via Fearless Records. Alongside the announcement, the band shares the album's lead single, a reimagined cover of "Where Are You Christmas?" from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, where Momsen starred as Cindy Lou Who.
While best known as the lead singer for the Pretty Reckless, who are responsible for hard-hitting rock 'n' roll ragers like "Going To Hell" and "Death By Rock And Roll," Momsen initially got her start in acting. Having starred in a number of projects, namely as Jenny Humphrey in the hit TV show Gossip Girl, Momsen had her breakthrough role as Cindy Lou Who when she was just seven years old.

The revisited "Where Are You Christmas?" features Momsen singing alongside her childhood self, starting the song off with a soft piano before full electric guitars and Momsen's signature vocal prowess storm across the track.
"Revisiting 'Where Are You Christmas?' 25 years later feels like coming home to a part of myself I hadn't seen in a long time," Momsen says in a press release. "I was just a child when I first sang it, and I never could've imagined the way the song and the film would stay with people for so long and unknowingly shape my career path as an adult."
She adds, "Recording it now, with all the life I've lived in between, I hear it through a different lens…but the heart of it is the same. It's about wonder, hope, and holding on to the magic -- something I think we all need more than ever."
Taylor Momsen's Pretty Reckless Christmas will include "Where Are You Christmas?" as well as four additional original songs from the Pretty Reckless. The EP will be available everywhere digitally on Halloween, and it will be available in physical formats -- including "Translucent Emerald" and "Translucent Ruby" vinyl variants -- on November 14. Vinyl and CD pre-orders are available now.
The Pretty Reckless' upcoming album directly follows their latest single "For I AM Death," released back in August. Over the last year, the band has toured extensively alongside AC/DC as the supporting act on their Power Up World Tour across Europe and North America. While the band has hinted at a possible new full-length album for a while, no further news of this has been announced.
