How Toto's song "Africa" ever became a hit might be mystical now. The song is classic yacht rock, fluffy soft rock, with lyrics that are nonsensical. What is easy to forget is that when the song was released, the sound was fresh and interesting.
Was it actually good? That is up to each listener. While fans of slightly more aggressive music might not like the track, bands such as Weezer have covered the tune and decided not to change the song much. That is an ode to Toto if there ever was one.
Let's assume you have always been a fan of the band and simply cannot get enough of hearing "Africa" and a lot of the rest of Toto IV, then you are in luck. The band will be back on the road in 2026 after a run of 2025 dates. While they might not be making any hit albums anymore, they make good money touring.

The current lineup of the band consists of Steve Lukather(guitar, vocals) and David Paich (keyboards, vocals) - both of whom are original members, as well as longtime vocalist Joseph Williams. The band also has a bunch of regular touring musicians, too.
