Ghost working on second concert film as follow up to Rite Here Rite Now

The first was brilliant.

Ghost lends itself to being a very theatrical band. That is a big part of the lure of the band, of course. It is intentional, but also brilliantly conceived and executed. Frontman (and basically everything of the group) Tobias Forge knows what he is doing.

This was on full display on Ghost's first concert film, Rite Here Rite Now, which was released in 2024. Instead of just a straightforward filming of the show, new scenes of the band's ongoing Chapters series were interwoven. It sounds silly, maybe, but true fans of the band understood it all.

But Forge and Ghost are also apparently working on a follow-up to the last film. Rite Here Rite Now was released in theaters, which augmented the experience. The sound was great, seeing the band perform on the big screen was elite, but there is no word on whether the new film will be released in theaters too.

It should be, but not much is known about the new project. No title or release date is known, but some things we do. For one, instead of completing filming at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles, as the first film was done, the new footage was filmed at Mexico City’s Palacio De Los Deportes Arena on September 24 and September 25, 2025, on 16mm film.

Whereas Rite Here Rite Now had a glossy sheen, using 16mm for the new project will give it a more grainy feel. Forge has previously said his favorite concert film ever was the Rolling Stones' Let’s Spend the Night Together, and that was created on 16mm film.

Forge is unafraid to wear his influences on his sleeve. This goes from the sound of the band to even how its concert films are made.

It might be difficult to match the success of Ghost's first film, but a trend is also developing in which the band makes films of all of its tours. This is a gift to fans, really. Many cannot afford to travel to concerts or buy expensive tickets, so instead of fans going to the band, Ghost is bringing the band to the fans. That is how it should be done.
