If you have been to a National Hockey League game, you will know music is a big part of what gets the crowd to stay focused and energized. All sporting events include some kind of music, of course, but nothing is quite like an NHL game.
The sport itself is fast and intense, which is why many of the songs played at home games when the home team scores are also fast and intense. They should be because this is the time for celebration. But picking the right song to go along with the goal is important.
Many teams stick with local bands, but with excellent songs to choose from. Seattle and Nirvana are synonymous, obviously, so it makes sense when the Kraken score, a Nirvana song, would be played. The team made the great choice of having "Lithium" be that tune.
The songs played at NHL games when the home team scores
The same can be said of the Utah Mammoth, going with the Used, who are from the state. Dallas uses a song from Pantera, but it feels a bit too obvious.
Many other teams have songs written for their teams, and that seems too fabricated. The best songs are the ones that keep people out of their seats well after a goal has been scored. Here are the songs each team uses.
- Anaheim Ducks - "Coming for You" (The Offspring)
- Boston Bruins - "Kernkraft 400" (Zombie Nation)
