Guns N' Roses explain Axl Rose's debacle at Buenos Aires concert

It kind of almost makes sense.

If you have been a fan of Guns N' Roses for decades, you will remember that the band used to have a bunch of canceled shows, or concerts that started hours late, and that the band members were bombastic toward each other and toward fans.

If anyone was trying to lose fans, it was GNR. But the music they made was so terrific that devotees remained. The issue is that there simply wasn't enough of the music, so when they toured, it made the shows more special. It was an odd give and take.

The band is on tour again, and things appear to be going smoothly. That was until, at a recent show in Buenos Aires, Argentina, when singer Axl Rose had a meltdown nearly immediately. Thankfully, things improved.

The first song at the show was the iconic "Welcome to the Jungle," but after singing the chorus, Rose threw his microphone at the drums and then ran off stage. Was new drummer Isaac Carpenter the reason for Rose's rage? Apparently not.

Guns N' Roses released a statement after the show that said the problem was that the singer's in-ear monitor pack was working correctly. Rose could only hear the drums, but not the rest of the instruments. Oddly, he vented his frustration at the only instrument he could actually hear clearly.

The band's statement also doubled down on Carpenter not being an issue, and said that he "is a top-notch and a great drummer." In other words, don't blame the drummer.

The issue was fixed by the third song, and things ran more smoothly. Fans still had to be confused about why Axl Rose came out so angry, though.

Guns N' Roses also might have great news soon, though we have heard teases from the band before that never came to fruition. According to legendary guitarist Slash, the group has a lot of material in order to make a new album. The last studio album from the group was 2008's Chinese Democracy, but Slash did not play on that record.

In a recent interview with Guitar World, Slash said making a new record was simply a matter of getting the band in a studio and working through the songs. So, fans can be hopeful, but also surprised if a new album is made.
