Harry Styles surprised fans this past weekend with a tour video, marking a possible end to his music hiatus. The video is his first on YouTube in two years, his first musical performance since he joined Stevie Nicks on stage in 2024 at British Summer Time.
It is his first public post on any platform in over a year, the previous being an Instagram post following the death of his fellow One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne.
The new video is titled Forever, Forever, and is an eight-minute collection of footage from the last show of the two-year-long tour, Love on Tour, which took place in Emilia-Romagna, Italy, on July 22, 2023. The video starts with footage of fans bonding before the show, energetically singing and speculating about what Harry would wear that night.
New Harry Styles song could hint at new music coming in 2026
It then transitions to shots of the crowd during the show, still jumping around and singing with the same enthusiasm. Finally, the video shows Harry taking the stage, saying to the crowd in Italian, “I wrote this for you.” He then plays an instrumental piano ballad that stuns the crowd.
The fan reaction to the new video has been overwhelmingly positive with many fans in the YouTube comments reminiscing about their tour experiences and noting how nice it is to have something new from Harry. “I hope this is how all artists view their fans. It’s crazy how we can listen to a song and connect with each other about it,” shared one fan.
The new song played in the video, which may itself also be titled “Forever, Forever,” has previously been labeled as the unknown, unreleased, live debut song specially played for attendees of the final Love On Tour show, with the common fan-title of “Harry’s Goodbye.”
When the song was played at the Eggio Emilia show, it was a stunning ten minutes and 38 seconds long. The new YouTube video marks the song’s official debut.
A fan that was at the show shared their experience in the video’s comments: “I was there in the crowd, stage left. Such a powerful moment. The crowd went from so energetic and loud to incredibly quiet, respectful, and peaceful.
It was incredible, electric, just magical. Ready for more!” It seems that both the video and the song are the perfect tribute to the tour and highlight the heightened emotions felt that night when the song debuted.
As for why Harry released the video now, when it has been two years since HSLOT ended, some fans are speculating that it marks the end of Harry’s music hiatus, and that new music might be on the way. What better way to end the year than by teasing listeners with hope for new music in the new year?
One fan in the comments shared, “This video reads like a bridge, a way of reconnecting with us after a long silence. Almost like he’s saying: ‘I haven’t forgotten you. I’m still here. Something is coming.”
And it really does feel like that is the overall message being conveyed throughout the video. The final moment is a wide shot of the crowd cheering as the words “WE BELONG TOGETHER” are bolded across the screen.
