You know you want to see it, right? The farewell concert for one of the most important and influential heavy metal bands is going to be a can't-miss event. When Black Sabbath takes the stage at Villa Park in Birmingham, England, on July 5, it'll be for the last time.
There is going to be a lot to see at the event, however. It won't just feature Sabbath, though they will clearly be the main draw. Other legendary bands will perform, too. This is basically the greatest metal event ever, which will also be a sad one.
Besides Black Sabbath, vocalist Ozzy Osbourne will perform as a solo with his band, while Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Gokira, Halestorm, Alice in Chains, Lamb of God, Anthrax, Mastadon, and Rival Sons will also have sets.
How to view the final Black Sabbath concert without leaving your home
Tickets for the event have long been sold out, so if you didn't have one, you can't go now. The good news is that you can save on a hotel room and plane tickets and catch the show from your living room.
You will have to pay for streaming the event, but you can do so by visiting Back to the Beginning and purchasing your pay-per-view ticket. Tickets cost $29.99, but you will have access to watch the event for 48 hours. In other words, if you love metal, how could you not want to stream something that is, for all intents and purposes, a festival?
There is also a bundle you can purchase that includes the concert as well as a T-shirt. That is only available to those livestreaming the event.
The Black Sabbath lineup includes the original members of the band. Osbourne has vocals, of course, with Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass (and he wrote much of the band's lyrics), and Bill Ward on drums.
Sabbath formed in 1968, and the original lineup released seven studio albums. These included must-haves, Paranoid, Vol. 4, and their self-titled debut. Overall, and with various lineup changes, Sabbath has released 19 studio albums.
Other performers scheduled to appear, besides those mentioned above, include Tom Morello, Billy Corgan, David Draiman, Duff McKagan, Fred Durst, Lzzy Hale, Jake E. Lee, Jonathan Davis, K.K. Downing, Mike Bordin, Papa V Perpetua, Rudy Sarzo, Sammy Hagar, Slash, Sleep Token II, Wolfgang Van Halen, Steven Tyler, Soundgarden, Andrew Watt, Chad Smith, Vernon Reid, Whitfield Crane and David Ellefson.
