Rick Springfield and Sammy Hagar would seem to make an odd pair, but maybe they don't. The truth is, they both want to sing rock songs and make money as long as people will hear them do that. Springfield has the bigger all-time hit, but Hagar has more hits. Maybe it'll be fun.
If you think so, the pair is going on tour together for a short run of shows in 2026. They will happen quite quickly, though, so if you want to go, you'll need to plan soon. And if you live in the American South or the West Coast, you are out of luck.
Maybe a trip to Indiana or Michigan sounds pleasing to you just before summer begins. Maybe New Jersey or Massachusetts. You will have your pick, of course.
Sammy Hagar and Rick Springfield hit the road together for a limited time in 2026
Who knows? Maybe the duo will even trade off songs. Hagar will do a rendition of "Jessie's Girl," and Springfield will do some Van Halen tunes. Or maybe "I Can't Drive 55." Either way, a chance of what fans expect might be fun.
The odd part is that Rick Springfield was likely an underrated musical artist in the 1980s, while Sammy Hagar has always been a bit overrated. He sings well enough, but his style is not quite at the entertainment level that David Lee Roth was and is.
In fact, maybe Springfield would have made an entertaining frontman for Van Halen. Listening to the band do the performer's underrated "Human Touch" would have been neat.

Hagar is also doing a couple of shows without Springfield. These will take place on June 26 and 27 at MGM National Harbor in Oxon Hill, Maryland. Expect to sweat in the summer heat, but the crowd should likely sing along quite a bit.
