With the Toronto Blue Jays up a game in the 2025 World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, and with game two tied at 1-all in the fifth inning, the Jonas Brothers entered. The group walked on the field, sang a song, and found a way to outrage many fans.
But let's be real: The situation was not their fault. It was part of Major League Baseball's Stand Up to Cancer program. It isn't like Joe, Nick, and Kevin begged to play one song in the middle of a baseball game. While there is no such thing as bad press, the only real press would have been negative.
The trio performed one song, "I Can't Lose," which seemed somewhat fitting for the theme of their part of the game. The track is from their Greetings from Your Hometown album, so maybe it was a bit self-serving too.
Jonas Brothers get senseless pushback for playing a song during the World Series
Viewers could have never heard of the Jonas Brothers or the song, heard it while watching the Dodgers and Blue Jays play, and thought, "I think I will immediately stream this album after the game." To be fair, not loads of people probably did that, but even if it's one, it's a win for the Jonas trio.
Social media, as it does, saw a lot of negative comments thrown at the group. How dare they be enjoying the game only to have a Jonas Brothers concert break out right in the middle? (That's not a joke; several posts screamed this issue.)
But dislike the Jonas Brothers' music all you want. Maybe they aren't your taste, that's fine. But don't blame them for what happened. Their manager said, "Let's take this opportunity," and they did it. Plus, the brothers understand someone struggling with cancer. Their father, Kevin Jonas Sr., was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2017.
In other words, it's odd to get angry about the Jonas Brothers doing one song for a great cause during the World Series. It is the cause that matters, Blue Jays fans might have been the most upset at the end of things, though. Their team lost to the Dodgers 5-1.
