Lollapalooza has undergone a lot of changes in the three decades it has been in existence. The ultimate positive is that the festival is still going and is still able to attract some elite musical talent. The headliners for the 2026 edition prove that.
Leading the way are Chicago icons Smashing Pumpkins, as well as Lorde, Charli XCX, Olivia Dean, Tate McRae, Jennie, the xx, and John Summit. Two of those performers will be making their debut at Lollapalooza.
Jennie is the first. The former member of Blackpink went solo with her record Ruby in 2025, and she has a global presence that will hopefully bring fans worldwide to Chicago for the festival. She has been consistently entertaining and is still at the peak of her powers.

The other artist making their debut is Olivia Dean, the British singer-songwriter who rose to fame in 2025 with her hit, "Man I Need." She adds a nuanced music that should fit well at the festival.
Oddly, the Smashing Pumpkins haven't played the festival since 1994, when the festival was still one that toured the United States. Now, it is located where the band was formed by Billy Corgan in 1988.
Lorde is headlining for the first time, but she previously played at Lollapalooza in 2014 and 2017. She recently made news by breaking from the Universal Music Group, and she is now a purely independent artist. It is a risk, but she has consistently produced excellent albums, so she should feel safe betting on herself.
Even beyond the headliners, the lineup is deep and talented. The group includes Yungblud, Geese, Clipse, Turnstile, Wet Leg, Finn Wolfhard, and Muna. In other words, if you can afford it, there is no real reason not to buy a ticket.
Lollapalooza will be held at Grant Park in Chicago from July 30 through August 2. General sale tickets were made available on March 19 and can be found on the festival's official website. Four-day tickets begin at $439. If you want to go for just one day, those tickets begin at $185.
