There is no secret Luke Combs is one of, if not the biggest, stars in country music today. From "Hurricane" to "Beer Never Broke My Heart" to "Where the Wild Things Are," he has given us some of the biggest hits. When the movie Twisters came out in 2024, Combs recorded the single "Ain't No Love in Oklahoma" for the film, but after that, he took a bit of a break.
In a recent interview with 60 Minutes Australia, the country star opened up about his personal life. Ever since he was 12 years old, Combs has been dealing with a rare type of OCD. He's been dealing with obsessional OCD or also known as Pure O. This kind of OCD is where obsessions cause anxiety, but compulsions are primarily mental or internal, instead of being physical.
According to ABC News, Combs said his mental health improved after making diet changes. This takes us to July of this year. After taking off for over a year, Luke released a new single called "Back in the Saddle." If you listen to the song carefully, you can hear the meaning of it.
The purpose of Luke Combs' "Back in the Saddle"
The song talks about his journey back to making music, but in a cowboy way. "It's just about me getting back to what I did when I first started doing music, saddling up, hitting the road, getting after it, just getting back to it," Combs said.
Ever since being released, the song has been getting a ton of love. While being in the Madden 26 video game, it has also been one of the top-played songs. It is great to see Combs back to making music once again.
"Back in the Saddle" wasn't the only single that Combs recorded as he teamed up with Bailey Zimmerman to release the single "Backup Plan," which also got tons and tons of love.
While I personally love his music, there are millions of other people who also enjoy listening to his songs and albums, while also seeing him perform. Don't worry where Combs has been, country music fans, he's back in the saddle again. Yeehaw!
