Modest Mouse should be one of your favorite alternative bands of the past few decades. Not all their songs are for everyone, and all might be for none, but if you understand the band, it's a gift. Isaac Brock and his mates have never been afraid to be themselves, and that comes through fully in the group's music.
But, while the band is heading out on tour again in 2026, if you hurry, you can also catch Modest Mouse and other alternative rock bands getting together for something quite different. Between February 5 and 9, Modest Mouse will host Portugal. The Man, Mannequin Pussy, and Kurt Vile and the Violators on the Ice Cream Floats cruise.
The cruise will run from Miami, Florida, to Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic on a Norwegian Pearl cruise liner. Besides the live music one will hear, the members of Modest Mouse will also commentate on films as they play, and Brock will read stories from children's books (the move and book-reading will not happen at the same time; that would be weird).
Modest Mouse announces 2026 tour dates (and a cruise)
Assuming you can't make the cruise, but still want to see the band live, you have loads of chances. New spring dates have been announced, and an artist pre-sale is already underway. General sales will be made available on Friday, January 30, at 10 am local time.
For more information, a person can visit Modest Mouse's official website. You can also sign up for the band's Ice Cream Party fan club for tickets in future pre-sales.
