1 week - Sports, Huey Lewis and the News

Sports was a great album with numerous poppy rock songs, but it is a bit surprising that it only spent one week at number one. It was just pinched by some really incredible competition at the time of its release.

Huey Lewis and the News eventually had three number-one singles, but surprisingly, none of them came from this album. Still, Sports generated four top-10 hits.

These hit singles were: "Heart and Soul" (8), "The Heart of Rock & Roll" (6), "I Want a New Drug" (6), and "If This is It" (6). Every one of these songs is upbeat and fun, so it is not surprising the singles and album enjoyed such success.

These songs are easy to sing along with, and if you want just to have some fun with some great music, download Sports and have a listen.

4 weeks - Born in the U.S.A., Bruce Springsteen

There can be no doubt that Bruce Springsteen is an iconic music legend. He is globally known as a songwriter, singer, and performer and has had an amazing, long career. Born in the U.S.A. is by far his biggest commercial success. He matched Michael Jackson's Thriller with seven top 10 hits.

As unbelievable as it may sound, Springsteen has never had a number-one song, but his biggest hit on the charts ever was "Dancing in the Dark," which peaked at number two. The video for this song is famous for showing Springsteen pulling a young woman from the crowd and dancing with her on stage. That young woman was Courtney Cox!

Earlier in his career, The Boss had several great songs, like "Badlands" (42) and "Born to Run" (23), but none gained the commercial success that he enjoyed with Born in the U.S.A.

The album wasn't done. After falling from the top spot after its four weeks at the top in 1983, it returned to number one 24 weeks later in 1984, where it remained for three more weeks.
