As difficult as it might seem to believe, Ozzy Osbourne has been dead for nearly a year. He died in July 2025, less than three weeks after he and Black Sabbath's farewell concert, Back to the Beginning. It was impressive, just as Ozzy's recently unveiled statue at Hellfest 2026 is.
The fixture stands 20 feet high and weighs 11,000 pounds, but with its base weighs 16,000 pounds. In other words, it would take several friends in an attempt to steal it, and even then, one would likely fail.
What matters is that the statue is there, and if you are planning on visiting France for the Hellfest festival (and you'd better hurry because, as of this writing, it's happening right now), you will be impressed by the Ozzy piece as well as a long-standing replica of Lemmy Kilmister that's been at the festival since 2022.
Hellfest unveils massive Ozzy Osbourne statue
Like the Lemmy one, Ozzy's statue won't be going away. It will return annually when the festival does.

The 2026 lineup of Hellfest is headlined by Iron Maiden, the Offspring, Limp Bizkit, and Bring Me the Horizon. The latter three are iffy, but Maiden would be worth the price of a ticket. Every year, however, the festival delivers valuable loud rock to fans of the genre. Next year, maybe you should go simply to have your photo taken with a 20-foot Ozzy (and, well, to visit France, of course).
Unfortunately, Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy's wife, could not be at the unveiling, as she stated on social media that she had to make a trip to the hospital. She appears to be fine, however, so that's the positive.
As for Jack Osbourne, Ozzy's son, he has gotten quite a lot of pushback for appearing at the recent UFC match on the front lawn of the White House. One likely believes Jack's being there means he supports the views of the current president of the United States.
Sadly, Ozzy Osbourne is unable to chime in on any of these events. His death, after a long-term illness, was not surprising, but that did not make it any easier for fans. He left a legacy that will live forever through those continuing to listen to his songs. And, if you go to Hellfest in France, you will be able to pay tribute to the legend in front of his 20-foot statue.
