When Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape from Now was being created, the project was never meant to be a posthumous one. Instead, it was supposed to follow Ozzy for several years, and fans could get a real exposé into the life of the icon.
Unfortunately, Ozzy passed on July 22, months ahead of when the doc will be released, but at least we now have a release date. Paramount Plus announced the film will be released on October 7 on the streaming platform internationally.
Even better, the studio dropped the first trailer of the doc, and make no mistake, it is a bit emotional. More so because director Tania Alexander (Undercover Boss producer) could not have known how the project would end. This means the doc comes to full fruition.

Lots of musicians were interviewed for the project, and they will appear on screen. The list includes Tom Morello, who was the musical director for the Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath farewell show, Billy Corgan, Metallica's James Hetfield and Robert Trujillo, Billy Idol, long-time Ozzy guitarist Zakk Wylde, and Sabbath's Tommy Iommi.
The film crew followed Ozzy over the final six years of his life, beginning with a failed tour in 2019 due to the legend's neck injury. He was still able to make music, but touring was impossible. This is what made Back to the Beginning so important. Ozzy and Black Sabbath were finally able to say goodbye in a proper way.
Of course, Ozzy had also been suffering from Parkinson's in his last years, and that also stripped him of the ability to move around well. Still, he was able to speak his views in a way only he can, and viewers will get a lot of that, as well as the observations of his famous family, wife Sharon, son Jack, and daughter Kelly.
The singer was laid to rest on the grounds of his estate in Buckinghamshire, UK. There was a funeral procession prior to the burial. The safe assumption is that scenes from at least the procession will be part of Ozzy Osbourne: No Escape from Now.
