Paul Simon is clearly one of the best songwriters of the 20th century, but he has never failed to put on an understated but excellent live performance. The songs come and go, of course, but the excellent concerts seemingly never stop, even after he initially said he was retiring after his 2019 tour.
The good part is that Simon recently announced a slew of new tour dates in 2026. The shows will all take place in the summer, beginning in early June in Palo Alto, California, and finishing with two shows in mid-July in Ravinia, Illinois. The A Quiet Celebration Tour is an extension of his 2025 tour, but more expansive.
Each concert is split into two parts. The first part features Simon playing his most recent album, 2023's Seven Psalms, in its entirety. There is then an intermission, after which Simon returns and plays some of the better-known tunes from his epic career.
Paul Simon announces 20-show run of 2026 tour dates
Joining Paul Simon on stage will be Edie Brickell, his wife of 33 years, on vocals, guitarists Mark Stewart and Gyan Riley, bassist Bakithi Kumalo, saxophonist Andy Snitzer, percussionist Jamey Haddad, keyboardist Mick Rossi, drummer Matt Chamberlin, flute player Nancy Stagnitta (flute), viola player Caleb Burhans, and cellist Eugene Friesen.
