It's been a weird and slightly unsettling week in music news so far. Elvis Presley's stepbrother had to apologize for recent comments and Pink has some mother's ashes thrown at her on stage. I mean, seriously. What is wrong with people sometimes?

Let's start with the Elvis issue. His stepbrother, David Stanley, made some comments in an Amazon Prime Video docuseries called "Elvis' Women" that likely angered some Elvis fans who see him as more of a god than a mortal man. Stanley basically implied that Elvis killed himself as Elvis struggled with his own personal demons, especially allegedly having sex with underage girls. In fact, what Stanley said was pretty much that Elvis Presley did off himself.

Stanley stated in the docuseries, Elvis was "premeditated taking the medications that killed him. Love, hurt, pain, exposure - he just couldn't take it any more." And, "His taste for young girls, aged 15 or 16, made me sick. I told him that it's a miracle he didn't get busted. He got away with things most people didn't, because of his money, fortune, fame and power, charisma and magnetism."

Music news: Elvis killed himself, says stepbrother and Pink is rightfully aghast at a fan's actions

Stanley has since posted on Instagram that he apologized for upsetting anyone. He even said in the post that there was "no excuse for (his) comments." But here's the thing. If Stanley truly thinks the way he does about Elvis, and he would know more about his stepbrother than almost all of the rest of us, then he shouldn't have to apologize.

Someone who should apologize, however, is the person at a recent Pink concert that literally threw their mother's ashes at the singer while Pink was performing. While Pink was singing "Just Like a Pill" the bag (it is unclear how Pink knew the ashes were of a deceased person or the mother of the fan) appears on stage and Pink picks it up. She looks at the fan in question and asks, "Is this your mom? I don't know how I feel about this."

Pink goes on to finish the song without even taking a real pause. Of course, who can blame her as who can be prepared for such a thing? For the fan, if you are reading this, be a better person from here on out.
