Some awards shows, like the Grammys and Oscars, can be a bit eclectic. But the Emmy Awards? That's where the craziness really starts. And the awards show has announced its entries for the music categories of this year's awards.

The voting on the nominees runs from June 17th through the 26th. From there, the entries will be paired down into the seven categories for the eventual winners. 550 members of the television academy will cast ballots and the people voting consist of composers, songwriters, music directors, orchestrators, and music supervisors, and others.

Among this year's entries may be basically any kind of music and any kind of performer you might like or hate. Dolly Parton, for instance, submitted songs from “Dolly Parton’s Mountain Magic Christmas” (which aired on NBC) and the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony" (which aired on HBO).

The Weeknd, who can also be found on the new HBO show, The Idol (it's not very good, by the way), put an entry in for his concert documentary on Max called The Weeknd Live at Sofi Stadium. That award would be in the Music Direction category. There are only 19 entries. While that's a lot, it is a ton less than in most other categories.
