Music News: Bob Dylan, Liam Gallagher and Mariah Carey
- Dylan set to join a tour
- Liam Gallagher mentions Carey while dissing the Rock Hall

If you are keeping a list of must-see tours this year, you might have another to add. Willie Nelson’s Outlaw Music Festival will have a fairly long run this summer and Bob Dylan will be one of the acts involved. Dylan had previously played a couple of shows with Nelson in 2017, but nothing like how many dates this festival will run.
Also, joining Dylan and Nelson will be Robert Plant and Alison Krauss, John Mellencamp, Molly Tuttle and Golden Highway, Nathaniel Rateliff and The Night Sweats, among others. Not every musical artist will be at every stop, so you'd need to check the festival's website for specific dates and artists. Bob Dylan appears to be involved with most of the dates, though that has not officially been posted on the site.
Dylan will be playing some solo shows in March but only in the very southeast of the United States. Eight of the 12 shows will be in Florida with the other four taking place in Georgia and North Carolina. So if you really like Dylan, you might need to hop on a flight to see him in early 2024.
Bob Dylan tours with Willie Nelson and Liam Gallagher invokes Mariah Carey
Speaking of musical icons, Liam Gallagher invoked the name of Mariah Carey in an interesting way this week. Gallagher's band, Oasis, is one of the finalists for this year's inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Gallagher wants no part of the honor, however, as he sees induction as no honor at all. Fair enough. Plus, the Hall has mostly been slow to embrace important English bands other than the best-known of the group.
Gallagher posted on X (the artist formerly known as Twitter) recently how he really feels about the Hall writing, "F**k the Rock n Roll hall of fame its full of BUMBACLARTS LG x". (I have to wonder if the "x" was a mistake, though. Also, you'll have to look up what "bumbaclarts" means as I cannot post it here.)
In a recent interview with The Sunday Times, Gallagher doubled down on his hatred of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but oddly mentioned Mariah Carey as well. Gallagher told the paper, "As much as I love Mariah Carey and all that, I want to say: do me a favor and f**k off...I’ve done more for rock n’ roll than half of them clowns on that board, so it’s all a load of bollocks."
