Hello, music fans, and welcome to the most bombastic new album release month in, well...months. After a few bare-bones months - though not without some important releases - September is going to give you literally anything you need. Looking for an early Christmas gift? There are about five, at least.

The month will be highlighted by the new Katy Perry album. This is only her third release in a decade, and the last two albums have underwhelmed. Perry's future might rise or fall based on her new record, 143.

Davild Gilmore of Pink Floyd has a new release as well. He has promised the record to be better than The Dark Side of the Moon. If proven, September starts with a winner.

The first week of September is the same as all the rest. There is a lot to choose from. In fact, you could choose from many different genres. David Gilmour has promised his new album will be great, but we will see. Paris Hilton? Ick. The The is an exciting option, though.

This is the weirdest week of releases in September and "weirdest" is meant in the absolute best sense. There is going to be some fun stuff here, including the Danish art pop band Efterklang. Bandcamp might have said the most possibly enticing thing about any band when they said of Being Dead's release, "A 16-track record that is genuinely unpredictable from one track to the next: a joyous and unexpected trip helmed by two true-blue freak b***h besties."
