The reissues of great albums seem to come more quickly than ever. While that's great, we have already heard most of those songs. At least November has a bunch of original releases worth your time too.
Besides the three albums mentioned below, there are other intriguing records. Vince Clarke will put out his first solo record, Songs of Silence, for instance. That will be released on November 17.
And, OK. If you just want reissues, that list is formidable. New Order's Substance comes out on November 10, while Deafheaven's Sunbather and Daft Punk's Random Access Memories come out on November 17. And that's just three of the excellent reissues in November. But here are some new releases worth buying.
Spiritual Cramp - Self-titled (November 3)
The San Francisco-based punk band sounds a lot more like they are from New York on some songs. The first single from their debut album, "Takin' on the Internet" sounds the Strokes sprinkled with a bit of Joy Division with a dash of Flock of Seagulls.
Spiritual Cramp has 10 tracks (perfect for a debut record) and if they all sound as good as the first single, this album is a winner. You can order the record through Blue Grape Music. Blue Grape Music is also home to Code Orange so the label clearly knows what it's doing.
Dolly Parton - Rockstar (November 17)
We've written about Rockstar before as Dolly Parton doing rock music is, well...interesting. The album will have 30 tracks, seven of which have been released. All of the tracks already out, including a mix of covers and originals are well-produced but not too slick.
Dolly sounds fine singing a rock song, but just don't expect her to cover any black metal anytime soon. This will be a decent album to have in your collection simply because it will be unoffensive to family members during Thanksgiving dinner but is still enjoyable. I am sure Dolly will win several Grammys for the record.
PinkPantheress - Heaven Knows (November 10)
PinkPantheress began her career the old way: She created her own songs and released them on her own. Using SoundCloud didn't really work well, but when she post a bit of "Just a Waste" on TikTok she got noticed a lot. She put out her first mix tape in 2021.
Heaven Knows is much more a traditional album, however. Three singles have been released from the record with "Boy's a Liar Pt. 2" (featuring Ice Spice) coming out way back in February. If you like alt-pop mixed with hip-hop and straight-up pop, you'll probably love this record.
