What if you had a chance to go see Queen of the Stone Age in concert? Would you go? What if the same questions were asked about Pixies? What if the two elite bands were touring together? That would be must-see rock & roll.
The good part is that this is exactly what will happen in May 2027, if not beyond. In support of the upcoming record, Perfecth, QOTSA will embark on an extended run of shows, beginning in South America. After that leg of the tour is done, the band will join with Pixies and Wheelchair Sports Camp to perform 16 concerts.
Perfecth is a play on the word "perfect," of course, because QOTSA frontman Josh Homme says he doesn't believe in the concept of perfection. The record will be released on October 30, a day after tickets go on sale.
Queens of the Stone Age and Pixies drop 2027 tour dates
Tickets for joint shows will go on sale on Thursday, October 29, at 10 am local time. For more information, you can check out Queens of the Stone Age's official website or wherever else you normally purchase tickets.
Pixies alone would be worth the price of admission. The punk-influenced band from Boston has been making musical gems for nearly 40 years, but it is their live performances that truly set them apart from other excellent rock bands.
Live, the group doesn't take breaks and doesn't speak in between songs, either. Instead, it's full-on, non-stop, hard-edged rock, and it will be one of the better concerts you go to. That is, unless you like hearing people constantly speak on stage. You're there to see the music played, right?
More concert dates for Queens of the Stone Age are expected to follow, but whether Pixies will join them is unknown.
As for Wheelchair Sports Camp, no one should be offended by the name necessarily. That is because the duo is a different kind of hip-hop that is fronted by Kalyn Rose Heffernan, who uses a wheelchair, and they will not care what you think of them. In other words, the duo should be a fantastic addition to the QOTSA and Pixies tour.
