Freedom 250, the Donald Trump-backed event in Washington, D.C., became a fiasco in terms of the musical talent that was expected to perform. Musicians such as Bret Michaels of Poison and country music star Martina McBride decided to pull out of the event after they said they had been misled by the political approach of the concerts.

America250, however, which is a Los Angeles-based event that will occur on July 4, is coming together quite nicely. Queen Latifah will host, Chris Stapleton will perform, and he will be joined now by the Smashing Pumpkins.

The expectation is that, even though the date is close at hand, other musical guests will join the lineup. What is certain, though, is that America250, which is a bipartisan congressionally created organization and event, isn't going to have the same failures that Freedom 250 had. Musicians attached to the event will actually play in Los Angeles, most importantly.

As far as tickets at the concert that will be held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, they are cheap. $17.76, in honor of the year of independence, of course, is the asking price. An entire family can go for less than what it costs for a single ticket to a Taylor Swift show, for instance.

Tickets go on sale on Tuesday, June 16, at 1 pm ET (10 am PT), and can be found on the America250 website. The money for the event isn't going to line the pockets of politicians, either.

A portion of the proceeds will be given to Giving 4th, which helps donations go to charitable organizations. All the proceeds after fees are paid go to the Feeding America organization, which is a United States-wide foundation that includes over 200 food banks.

Plus, according to the America250 website, 5,000 tickets will be given free to first responders, active duty service members, and veterans. One needs to go to VetTix to claim the tickets.

The event is set to begin at 6 pm PT on July 4. One should expect fireworks as well as a great show.
