There are two issues with the latest System of a Down news. One is that while they are hitting to road in 2026, you might have to travel to see them. The other is that it doesn't mean what we all want.
Here is some great news, however. While SOAD will be gigging in Europe in 2026, they will have another great band going along with them. Queens of the Stone Age will be at all the tour stops, too. Heck, just one of those bands is worth the price of a ticket, but both together? The show should not be missed.
Acid Bath, recently reunited (and it feels so good), will be the opener, and they are also terrific live. In other words, System of a Down, Queens of the Stone Age, and Acid Bath might be the rock tour to see in 2026, and you can check out Europe while you follow them around.
System of a Down hitting the European roads with Queens of the Stone Age
Of course, what SOAD fans would really love is for the band to make a new record. The problem appears to be how well the band members mesh creatively for long stretches in the studio. The last record the group made was Hypnotize, but that was in 2005.
The band has continued to tour, though. This has happened mostly in the United States, with some shows in South America, and the European shows will be System of a Down's first on the continent since 2017.
Queens of the Stone Age's most recent album was In Times New Roman... in 2023. It is definitely worth checking out if you haven't already.
