Taylor Swift is a legend, and she has to know it. The issue is that some things are out of her control. As popular as she is (and she is almost Bad Bunny-like), she can only do so much when he name is mentioned with anything. Like a golf tournament.
Does Swift play golf? Who knows? But he fiance, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, does. And he's pretty good at it, it seems. Otherwise, he might not have been asked to perform (nor would he have accepted) at the legendary Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2026, but he was.
The event started in 1937 when another music icon started the whole business. That would be Bing Crosby, and while he played in the first tournament, he didn't win. Sam Snead did. The event had the singer's name attached, however. It was known as the Bing Crosby Pro-Amateur Golf Championship.
Taylor Swift didn't show at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am but tickets were sold anyway
A pro-am, of course, includes both, wait for it...professional golfers and amateurs. That is where Kelce enters, and Taylor Swift accidentally gets involved. You see, many people ($60,000 worth of tickets, in fact) thought that because the tight end was playing, Swift would be there to watch. Rumors had it that she was in Pebble Beach, after all, so why not make a jaunt to the event?
But she didn't. People purchased tickets to see the golfers play (Kelce made par), but Swift was not involved. That was none of her fault, of course. Just because she is about to marry one of the players doesn't mean she owes an allegiance to following everything he does.
Maybe she just wanted to go shopping, have a massage, or hang out wherever they are staying, and binge-watch Love Island. She can do what she wants, of course. Standing all day on a golf course might not be her cup of tea. Or whiskey. Or whatever she drinks.
The AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am likely doesn't mind the mere mention of Taylor Swift, though. After Travis Kelce was announced to be playing, the event sold those $60,000 in tickets within 12 hours of the announcement. At least he played well.
