Taylor Swift performing as KISS begs the obvious question

It was a while ago, but endlessly memorable.

Let's go back to the year 2009 when Taylor Swift was still solely focused on being a country queen. That would change over the years, and she is certainly more pop now than ever. Maybe one day she will retrace her steps and go back to country music one day, but there is no need to.

While on tour that year with Keith Urban, and Swift being the supporting act, Urban was doing a rendition of his hit song, "Kiss A Girl." While he was performing, Swift, dressed as Ace Frehley from KISS, walked out with her band and joined in on the fun.

The whole situation, of course, seems ridiculous, but the reality is that it happened. And it was fun for all involved. Swift still seems to have enough fun performing that she will pull another trick like the one in 2009 in the future. Maybe not as KISS again, but some other iconic band.

Taylor Swift dressed as KISS might have some people asking what's next

But this begs the obvious question of what other possibilities there could be for a famous musical artist paying homage to another artist. It would have to be live, and it would have to feel spontaneous. That is the only way it can be truly magical.

Billie Eilish as Tobias Forge of Ghost

This one doesn't seem that outlandish, honestly. Forge certainly has a healthy respect for pop and has worked with former members of ABBA in his songwriting process. Swedes stick together, it seems. But Eilish and Ghost don't sound much like each other.

One might wonder how Eilish's whispery vocals might work with a Ghost tune. Maybe "He Is" takes on new meaning in a good way. It would be fun to see either way.

Sabrina Carpenter as Sleep Token

Two newish musical artists coming together in an odd way would be interesting. Carpenter's image of having fun might not mix well with the doom of Sleep Token, or maybe there is a meeting in the middle that creates music magic. The height difference alone between Carpenter dressed as Sleep Token's Vessel would be shocking.

The odd part is that Sleep Token is a metal band (sort of), but the airiness of their tracks might be the biggest difference between them and Carpenter. She makes quick pop hits, while Sleep Token's tunes tend to drag on and on.

Justin Bieber as Maria Brink of In This Moment

This mashup might be the most disturbing visually. How many people want to see Bieber dressed as Brink is debatable, but there are probably a few who would be entertained by it. Brink is worthy of being an iconic frontwoman of a metal band, while Bieber is a pure pop artist.

It would be fun to see Bieber try to pull off songs such as "Whore" and "Blood." Perhaps he proves himself further by doing solid renditions of them.
