On Thanksgiving Day in the United States, the Detroit Lions hosted the Green Bay Packers at Ford Field. For Lions fans, the game didn't go very well. For Jack White fans, it was much better. The recent Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee performed during halftime and was joined by fellow Detroit native Eminem.

Literally a week later, the Lions are playing on Thursday again. In Week 14, Detroit will host the Dallas Cowboys. Both teams are battling for a playoff spot and NFC seeding, but Dallas has a bit more momentum entering the game. The Lions might have the advantage since they are playing at home, but that didn't work out against Green Bay, did it?

No matter. For our concerns here, we care about the music. Those attending the game and watching Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime Video will be able to watch R&B icons, the Temptations, provide the halftime entertainment. Even if the game isn't enjoyable, the music will be.

The current lineup of the Motown legends includes Otis Williams, Ron Tyson, Terry Weeks, Tony Grant, and Jawan Jackson. Williams is a founding member of the group. Unfortunately, other founding members, such as Eddie Kendricks, died early. Kendricks was only 52 years old, for instance.

The Temptations produced four No. 1 singles ("My Girl," "I Can't Get Next to You," "Just My Imagination (Running Away with Me," and "Papa Was a Rollin' Stone") on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as 14 No. 1 singles on the R&B charts. Overall, the music was mostly uplifting, soulful, and easy to hear.

The band formed out of two different doo-wop groups in 1961 and went on to win four Grammy Awards. The Temptations were the first Motown group to win a Grammy.

In honor of their halftime show, the Detroit Lions have asked those attending the game to wear all white. This has been the long-time dress of the group. Now, if only that would bring good luck to Detroit football as it takes on those hated Cowboys from Dallas.
