Twisted Sister might not have had the depth of quality that some other hair metal bands had, but their best songs rank among the best of the genre. Moreover, their fans are some of the most devoted of any band in any musical genre.
It is a bit difficult to believe that Dee Snider and his friends have been around for 50 years. Mostly. Guitarist Jay Jay French was one of the founding members of the band in 1972, while fellow guitarist Eddie Ojeda joined in 1975 and Snider in 1976. No matter how you split it, the main parts of Twisted Sister have been together for a very long time.
Now it seems that finally the band is going to embark on a long-promised reunion tour. While more dates will probably be announced later, the first ones for 2026 have been delivered. Oddly, the only show in the United States so far is in Alaska. This would imply a bunch more dates are yet to come.
Twisted Sister deliver the first announced shows for their 50th anniversary tour
After all, who does a 50th anniversary tour like Twisted Sister is doing, but only has one US date? Maybe that will be what actually happens, but that would be the band's and their fans' loss.
The band hasn't performed since 2016, but the expectation should be that Twisted Sister can still deliver the goods. Hopefully, those goods will be in many more cities in the United States than just Palmer, Alaska.
