Summer should bring a lot of fun music, and there will be loads of festivals to go to and songs to blare while driving around in the car. But few things are better than going to a gig.
That is anytime of the year, not just a summer festival. The good news is that this fall, you can go see two of your favorites from the 1980s playing together. Those bands are Devo and the B-52s. Does their music match at all? Well, surprisingly, yeah.
Both are perfect examples of real alternative rock. Devo's catalog will always be overshadowed by the massive 1980 hit, "Whip It," but they are so much more than that. They are punk-influenced and not afraid to take chances. Their shows are terrific.
B-52s and Devo are hitting the road together beginning in September
The same goes for the band from Athens, Georgia. The B-52s are energy personified. They also have a number of tunes people will recognize, from "Rock Lobster" to "Love Shack" to "Roam." There is no way not to have a fun time at one of their gigs.
The two bands will do a joint 11-date tour of North America beginning September 24 in Toronto, and ending on November 2 in Houston.
Tickets for the shows will go on sale to the public on June 20 at 10 am ET, but the presale begins on June 16 for Citi Cardmembers, according to Live Nation.
