Ariana Grande appears to be slowly moving her full-time career into one that focuses on acting. She's starred in two Wicked films, but those include music as well. In 2027, she will be making her West End debut in Sunday in the Park with George.
How soon she begins acting in future projects that have nothing to do with music is not yet known, but fans know that her solo career isn't yet done. Grande dropped the information on Tuesday that she will be releasing her latest album, Petal, on July 31.
According to the singer's website, the new album is "something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging."
Ariana Grande announces new album, though the details are few
What that fully means is unknown because no first single has been produced and no tracklist has been leaked. How many songs will be on the record, and anything else about the new work is a mystery.
That makes sense, though. In the current climate, online leaks happen far too much. Part of the fun of hearing most of a new album on its release day is that you are listening to it at the same time as hundreds of thousands of others. It's communal.
What is also communal is seeing Ariana Grande in concert. She will embark on a long run of shows beginning in June in Oakland, California, and finishing with 10 dates in London. You can check Grande's official website for tickets (good luck finding any, though).
