You might have to travel.

Many musical artists will travel all over the world, coming to a city near you, so that you can see them in concert. They will mostly come to you because they want to grow their brand. You won't normally need to pay for a ticket knowing you will also need to book a hotel room, plane flight or rental car, and lots of food.

That is unless you are a fan of musical artists such as Beyoncé or Taylor Swift. In those cases, they will play one city a few times and know that you will travel to see them because they become their own destination vacation. In the case of Swift, she might not play lots of different cities, but will play several nights in Toronto and assume you will get there somehow. It gets expensive.

Beyoncé has followed that same pattern in the recently announced tour dates for her Cowboy Carter tour. She is set to play 27 shows so far, but all of those take place in only eight cities. Six of the concerts take place in London alone.

Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are setting the trend for concerts to be destination vacations

If you want tickets, you have to hope and wish that you are lucky enough to win a lottery for one among tens of thousands of other fans. Plus, it appears that in the pre-sale for the events, some of the sections were blocked out which means that those trying to get tickets have an even smaller chance to buy them.

Social media was angry at the ticket-buying experience. Some of those contained NSFW language. But fans had a right to be upset as tickets are already expensive enough without them having to be so difficult to obtain.

The case above is probably not uncommon. The wait to see if one even had a chance to purchase a golden ticket was long and difficult. If one was smart then they might have tried to plan ahead and take the day off.

Remember when buying tickets was not so tough? With bigger artists doing destination concerts, ticket purchasing is only going to get harder. That's no fun.

Success! Like waking up on Christmas and knowing you bought yourself a gift but still being really happy about it. Nothing wrong with that. Enjoy the show!
