If you've ever seen perhaps the best concert film ever, the Talking Heads' Stop Making Sense, you will know that David Byrne knows how to orchestrate a fantastic show. While that film was released 40 years ago, Byrne hasn't lost his artistic ability. Instead, it might even be more refined.
He also isn't done making new music. His latest studio record, Who is the Sky?, is a brilliant album of happy, poppy tunes. If your day is not going well, or the greater world's recent news of doom has you blue, play Byrne's album. You will be happier.
Better yet, go to see him play live. You will have plenty of chances to do that in 2026, too. To begin the year, he will be touring Australia and Europe, and then hit North America with two dates at Knoxville, TN's excellent Big Ears festival. The whole event shouldn't be missed, and the Byrne part is sure to be a standout.
David Byrne will have a massive 2026 tour (and here are the dates)
Pre-sale tickets for the North American shows go on sale on Wednesday, December 10, at 10 am local time via Live Nation. Tickets for the general public go on sale on Friday, December 12, at 10 am local time.
