Bands often announce farewell tours, but fans still have a right to feel a bit miffed when those tours end up being so much longer than anticipated. The run of shows seems like more of a money grab by getting fans to buy tickets to "last" shows that aren't truly that.
That might not be the case with Devo and the B-52s, however. The groups seemed to imply in 2025 that they were going on a tour together that could result in the end for both. (The "imply" and "could" parts are intentional; the bands never officially said they were finished, but that was the feeling fans got.)
The bands are still announcing gigs, though, with the caveat that only a handful of gigs are dropped at a time. This means instead of saying the bands will do 150 shows in such and such cities, Devo and the B-52s instead send out a list of 10 concerts they will be performing. That is definitely the kind of trend that could last forever.
Devo and the B-52s announce even more tour dates together (it might never stop)
The newest dates start on September 17, just outside Chicago in Tinley Park, Illinois. The run ends a bit over a month later in California, but there is a gap of shows for over a month between late September and late October.
A pre-sale for the new shows from Citi Cardmembers begins on Tuesday, June 23, at 10 am local time. A Live Nation pre-sale starts on Thursday, June 25, at 10 am local time.
