Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival is back in Texas in 2026. Almost every three years since 1999, the icon has held the fest, and while it has been held in Dallas a couple of times (as recently as 2019), it has never been held in Austin until now.

While Dallas produces a lot of music, few cities in the United States are as musically diverse as Austin. You want blues, country, rock, and all other kinds of genres in one place? The capital of Texas is the city for you, and it should be the perfect setting for Clapton's fest.

This year's fest will be held on September 26 and 27 at the Moody Center. Clapton will perform both nights, and he will be helped by some friends who are legends themselves. That includes Pete Townshend (he is in a little-known band called the Who, of course), Buddy Guy, ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons, John Mayer, and Jimmie Vaughan.

What you need to know about Eric Clapton's 2026 edition of the Crossroad Guitar Festival

That is just a few of the gems who will play. Others include Joe Bonamassa, Del McCoury Band, Trey Anastasio of Phish, Marcus King, and Taj Mahal, among many others. In other words, if you plan on going, you will have two full days of fantastic music.

Tickets for the festival will be made available to the general public on Friday, April 3, at 10 am CT. For more information, one can go to the official Crossroads website.

Proceeds from ticket sales help fund Clapton's Crossroads Centre Antigua. The center was founded in 1998 and helps those struggling with chemical and alcohol dependence to get clean. Family members and significant others are also involved in the recovery process.

Eric Clapton has battled substance abuse as well, but has been sober since the 1980s. As anyone who has been through the struggle themselves or with friends or family members knows, getting clean isn't a one-step process, but a lifelong battle.

Clapton and Jimmie Vaughan will also do a couple of shows together before the festival. Those shows will take place on September 6 in Detroit and September 17 in Kansas City.
