Rock music is experiencing a resurgence, with a new generation of artists bringing the genre back into the mainstream. From Yungblud and MGK to Nothing But Thieves, rock acts are reaching wider audiences and challenging the dominance of pop. A new era of rock ’n’ roll is taking shape.

This year has seen some extraordinary subgenre rock albums on shelves, such as Sombrs I Barley Know Her, Megadeth's self-titled album, and Your Favorite Toy by the Foo Fighters, which were very successful releases for the artists.

Megadeth's enduring appeal demonstrates that, even after more than four decades, demand for the raw energy of rock ’n’ roll remains strong. The train doesn’t stop there, as a recent drop is anticipated to be one of the year's best records.

Fontaines DC’s Dopamine Chamber is fantastic

Fontaines DC are not a new group on the block; they originally debuted their first album, Dogrel, in 2019; however, their new fifth studio album has seen accelerated success, and now it is a very exciting time for the band.

Formed in Dublin, Ireland, in 2014, their growing popularity has taken them from pubs and clubs to major outdoor venues such as London’s Finsbury Park. Their most recent album, Dopamine Chamber, will allow them to perform to some of their biggest crowds to date.

Recently, Fontaines DC changed things up by promoting their new album with a successful pre-release marketing campaign, including published images and a different logo, all in anticipation of Dopamine Chamber. The album also features a collaboration with Grammy Award-winning Rosalía on the hauntingly eerie "Where is Gone?" A very new sound for them.

The lead single from the album "Marianne" combines dreamy synth-pop with a dash of electronic, with hints of rock. A perfect concoction of sound, a strong lead single that instantly delights existing fans and lures new fans into the World of Fontaines D.C., drawing interest into their back catalogue and new tracks.

A noticeable theme of escapism emerges, and what it means to escape; "Marianne" is the perfect taste of this and is the second track on the album.

Dopamine Chamber debuted on streaming platforms and in physical music stores on October 16, 2026. Fans are spoiled for choice with copies available to purchase, including a standard CD, vinyl, and cassette.

There are also a few limited-edition pieces in there, including a blue vinyl, marbled blue vinyl, blue and red nebula vinyl, deluxe vinyl with printed interior and booklet, slipmat bundle, alternative artwork CD, and a collaboration with CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) for a sticker pack CD bundle and a CALM CD and T-Shirt bundle, to name a few.

It will be a busy time for Fontaines DC as they have also announced a 2027 World Tour set to visit Asia, Australia, New Zealand, South America, North America, Canada and Europe before returning to North America.

However, fans in Europe could see the band this year, as they are currently touring the continent, which wraps up on November 27, 2026, at the O2 Arena in London. If this year is not an option, there are fifty-one dates next year for fans to choose from.

Some of the tour dates are sold out; extra dates have been added, and more could be added at a later date. It is an exciting time for Fontaines DC fans, as they are more popular than ever, bringing their art to the mainstream. And it looks like much more is on the way.
