As summer begins to wind down (sort of; we all know it's going to be hot for several more months) and the kids go back to school, this sometimes means fewer album releases. The fun sounds of summer are gone. But not so much in 2025.
August is full of new releases, and it is a mix. Any type of music you like will probably be represented and worth taking a chance on. Anamanaguchi and Halestorm in the same week, for instance? You betcha.
Perhaps the most anticipated release, as far as pop albums, is the new Sabrina Carpenter. With all the attention she has already received from her attempts to draw attention to the record, one would think it might already be out. Not yet.

What a delicious week. The new Ethel Cain should be bombastic, pristine, and slightly creepy-sounding. Machine Gun Kelly better not try to give us what his album title implies (please). And the Black Keys are always fun.

There is a bit of something for everyone during this week. Deftones and Kathleen Edwards and everything in between. The problem is that we might see a lot of Russell Wilson on social media talking up Ciara's new record. That is the husbandly thing to do, but his words will sound robotic.
August 29
- Blood Orange - Essex Honey

- Christian McBride Big Band - Without Further Ado, Vol. 1

- The Beths - Straight Line Was A Lie
- The Hives - The Hives Forever Forever The Hives

The biggest release of the week will likely be Carpenter's. The fun will be in watching what other sensationalized acts she does to try to sell the record. The initial album cover got a bunch of publicity, for instance.
