Ghost's new Pet Shop Boys cover is all that and a bag of chips

What you expect when expecting.

Ghost has been one of the most vibrant hard rock acts for years now, but Tobias Forge and whoever he invites along for the ride are not afraid to cover other bands. In fact, the group has made a good living from that, making EPs nearly full of covers to give fans something when a full studio album is not on the way.

The EPs are great pieces of ear candy, and fans know what to expect. Some of the songs might be unexpected, and all of them are played in Ghost's style, but if you need something to make your day better, it is better to have a cover Ghost has created than no Ghost at all.

Ahead of the new leg of their Skeletour dates, Ghost haven't released an EP (not yet anyway), but did release a new single, which is a cover of the Pet Shop Boys' 1987 hit, "It's a Sin." There are synths in Ghost's cover, sure, but mostly guitars replace the synth-only song by Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe.

Ghost covers Pet Shop Boys in the best possible way

There is also likely a real organ, which gives the Ghost tune a creepier feel, which is expected. The song propels forward, necessarily, while Forge does his best Tennant impression. It's fun, bright, and brilliant. The first part is the most important.

While there is no official video, there is an official audio version, which is well done and very retro. A computer screen looks quite beta, but the lyrics show as well as some Ghost footage. Something about the non-video augments the song itself and keeps a fan watching.

Is it the most serious song you will hear in any given week? Nope, but that's the point. It's four minutes and 40 seconds of musical bliss, and it will make your day better.
