GWAR is a band that you must see in concert, even if you aren't a huge fan of their music. You might not even get what they are trying to do, but that's OK. Let yourself be free and enjoy the couple of hours of the show.
That's kind of the point anyway. One has to suspend disbelief and not get offended. GWAR isn't attacking views or fans, but making light of how ridiculous things in life can be at times. The band isn't trying to win Grammys; they are trying to entertain.
And entertain they do. But you'll need to dress appropriately. Don't wear some of your best clothes unless you want them to be covered in color. If you do want to go all-in on the experience, wear something white and make a new shirt out of what will be sprayed.

You also might want to cover your head. The dye the band uses can be stuck in your hair for quite a long time.
Still, tickets are worth it just to escape reality for a bit. The band's new fall dates will run from October 27 through mid-December. An artist's pre-sale begins on Wednesday, April 29, at 10 am local time, with general public sales starting at 10 am local time on Friday, May 1.
