This is not going to be a discussion about who is right or wrong in the Elon Musk and Donald Trump flare-up. Those two are one side of the same coin, and trying to splice their views is meaningless. They can bicker all they want, and it's interesting.
Politics and music often mesh, for better or worse. One is art, and one is not. One is long-lasting, and one wants to be. Leonardo da Vinci painted the Mona Lisa between 1503 and 1506, but can anyone name who was running Florence, Italy, at the time?
This is not to say anything Jack White has recorded compares to what da Vinci produced, but White is no slacker either. His White Stripes will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2025. He has made some iconic records, and those records are going to be around for a while.
Jack White gives his honest opinion about the Donald Trump and Elon Musk feud
And White has often spoken his views on anything cultural or political. One does not have to agree with him, of course, but, like anyone, he does have a right to speak his mind. And while some might side with Trump or Musk, White sides with neither. And he doesn't like Kanye West either.
After the Trump and Musk feud broke out on social media (Musk had called Trump's budget bill an abomination and seemingly didn't like the cut for tax breaks on electric vehicles and Trump said Musk knew about the issue and Musk said he didn't, and it was like a elementary school-yard conversation between powerful adults), White also took to social media to comment.
White said on Instagram while showing a split photo of Musk, West, and Trump, "3 (expletive) nazi clowns collapsing under the weight of their own unchecked egos. More popcorn gruppenfuehrer! L to R: Joseph Noballs, Yedolf Hitler, and Herman Boring. Is America 'Great' yet boys?"
Again, we don't have to agree with White, but we might agree with his sentiment. Politics has seemingly become more about making news instead of developing policy. It is the opposite of art.
And all we really want to do is rock out. Is there anything wrong with that? Unlikely.
