Supportive and nice.

Kelly Clarkson is a lot of things. She is a talk show host, actress, and mother. But she is one thing more than any other professionally: A singer. She has been one her entire life, and she understands the need to protect her instrument from long-term harm.

Unfortunately for her fans heading to her new run of Las Vegas shows over the Fourth of July weekend, she had to cancel the gigs due to the strain that rehearsals had put on her voice. Instead of announcing the cancellations well in advance, though, she waited until only a few hours before the July 4 gig was set to begin.

Fans had already arrived in Vegas, waited in line for tickets, made hotel reservations, and so much more. They might get their money back from the tickets to Clarkson's show, but nothing else. They could have felt misled and lied to.

Kelly Clarkson gets a fantastic reaction even after canceling two concerts

Fans have a right to be upset if they spent hundreds of dollars on tickets only to find out the day of the show that the concert had been canceled. Plans were made to see the show, but other plans couldn't be made, and life changed.

But Kelly Clarkson's fans, for the most part on social media, weren't angry. Many were understanding. Shockingly so. In fact, any musical artist would be lucky to have the fans Clarkson does.

After posting on Instagram an apology and announcement of the concerts for July 4 and 5 being canceled, the reaction the singer got was supportive and simply wanted to best for the performer.

One fan wrote, "When you ACTUALLY sing live, you are allowed this grace. Rest that incredible instrument."

Another added, "Flew in from NY for both opening weekend shows. Devastated doesn’t cut it but your health has to come first. Get well soon Kelly."

Yet another wrote, "Self care. We love to see it."

Classy stuff for sure. Few responses were written without the understanding that Clarkson might actually harm her vocal cords should she try to battle her way through a couple of performances while risking the cancellation of many others due to potential injury.

Kelly Clarkson might not be the greatest musical artist ever, but she certainly has some fantastic fans. All performers should be so fortunate.
