The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame chose to go against type for its 2026 class. Not only did it tend to go heavy into actual rock bands, but the decision-makers chose to induct a couple of bands that previously didn't seem to care if they were enshrined. One was Iron Maiden and the other was Oasis.
The question for these bands now, though, is how involved they will be during the induction process. Will they decide to show up for the ceremony, which will be held at an as-yet unknown date later in 2026? As far as Oasis is concerned, fans seem to already know the answer, and it's somewhat unexpected.
Taking to social media to voice his reaction to this year's Rock Hall announcement, Liam Gallagher, main vocalist for the Britpop legends, said that he and his brother, guitarist and songwriter Noel, would both be at the ceremony. This implies they will also perform at the show.
Oasis appears set to appear at the 2026 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony
Just as shocking, Gallagher seemed to be excited about the band's induction. For years, Oasis has mocked the entire idea of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Rock, after all, didn't need a museum, but it needed to be a living and breathing genre by bands who play live and make albums.
"I wanna thank all the people who voted for us it’s a real honour ever since I was a little kid and singing in the shower I’d dream about 1 day being in the RnR hall of fame it’s true what they say anything is possible if you have a dream," Gallagher wrote on X.
Gallagher later wrote in reaction to whether Oasis would be at the ceremony, "We’re both going we’re soooooo proud and humble."

To be sure, Liam Gallagher has been known to be quite sarcastic in his tweets, enough that some might think he was being serious when he wasn't. Having a dry sense of humor is a great British trait, of course, and Gallagher is the master of that.
Still, he might have been a bit sarcastic in his extreme excitement, but the sentiment was probably spot on. Oasis fans should hope. Having a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony that features Oasis and Iron Maiden, among others, promises to be iconic.
