If you love Lynyrd Skynyrd and Creed, you are in luck. The bands will be touring together this summer on a run of festival shows called Rock the Country. The traveling show has been around for a few years, but it hasn't lost its initial cause. If you are a certain type of person, the concerts are for you.
And, well...likely not others. That is because Kid Rock was of the headliners of the original 2024 tour (along with Jason Aldean, so you can kind of see where this is going), and he described the tour, in part, as, "It’s a movement, a gathering of hardworking, god-fearing patriots who love America and believe in the power of live music to bring people together."
There is nothing wrong with being god-fearing and a patriot, of course, but there is little doubt about what the right-wing-leaning Kid Rock knew by his words. He might not always come across as the smartest person in any room, but he knows how to antagonize.
2026 Rock the Country dates (if you really feel the need to go)
But Rock and Aldean didn't leave the festival behind after 2024. In fact, they are on the bill in 2026, too. They will be joined by washed-up Lynyrd Skynyrd and Creed, of course, as well as Blake Shelton, Brooks and Dunn (again, you can see what the festival is really about), Jelly Roll, and a host of others.
Eight towns will host the Rock the Country festival over a period of time that extends from early May to early September. Not every musical act will appear in each city, and you will need to check the festival's official website to see who is playing when.
If you like the performers involved, go see the show and have fun. The list includes icons like Ludacris and Nelly. Even while Kid Rock implies that the festival is for everyone, the feeling is that you are the least bit alternative, you might want to pass.
