Morgan Wallen is the biggest country star on the planet. His latest record, I'm the Problem, is the best-selling record of the year, and it seems to not be slowing down much. No matter what Wallen does, he sells records, for better or worse.

The odd part is that he doesn't get a lot of Grammy Award love. In fact, he has only gotten one nod, and that was simply being a part of a Post Malone song. Malone is a hip-hop artist who decided to go full-on country. The Grammys must like that better than Wallen, who started off country and has remained so.

The truth is that despite all the records Wallen has sold, he doesn't get much praise from professional reviews. He is more of poppy country fluff than someone who makes long-lasting gems of music. This isn't to say he will be forgotten in 20 years because he won't. But how valuable his songs are might remain in question.

Morgan Wallen decides to pass on putting music up for 2025 Grammy Awards nominations

As far as the 2025 Grammys, Wallen has clearly decided he doesn't want to risk more disappointment. He will not be putting forth any music to be up for nominations. Heck, maybe he wouldn't get nominated anyway, but now there is no chance.

The Grammy eligibility period ends on August 30, and voting runs from October 3 to 15, with the nominees announced on November 7. Not that Morgan Wallen would have been holding his breath.

He is likely quite happy playing his music, getting back to God's country (his words, not ours), throwing chairs of stories-high bars and potentially hurting those below (his actions and not ours), and kicking back counting his money. He is certainly making a lot of that.

And being nominated for a Grammy doesn't normally allow a high-performing musical artist to sell even more albums and tracks. They are doing well enough without the award noise. Wallen doesn't want it. He knows his fans will buy concert tickets and buy his albums, and he will keep delivering them.
