My Chemical Romance have announced that they are releasing a 15th Anniversary edition of their fourth album, Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.
The release comes a little late, as the album’s 15th anniversary was actually in November of last year. However, the release isn’t unprecedented or unexpected. Last year, the band released a remixed and remastered edition of their first album, Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, for its 21st anniversary, and it looks like they are following that pattern again this year.
Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys was originally released on November 22, 2010. The album was the band’s fourth and most recent complete studio album. Since its release, the band have broken up and gotten back together but have still yet to release another new album.
When will My Chemical Romance's Danger Days Deluxe Edition be released?
While the band seems to be focused on celebrating their past contributions to the emo era through anniversary releases and touring their most famous album, they have also shared a few (and I mean few) new creations over the past few years.
MCR have so far released one only post-return creation, a song titled “The Foundations of Decay,” which was released on May 12, 2022. Since then, they have also played a few previously unreleased songs while on their Long Live the Black Parade tour.
The new deluxe edition of Danger Days is set to release on July 10, 2026. Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys (Deluxe Edition) will feature remastered versions of the album’s original songs as well as nine bonus tracks and new artwork. The bonus tracks to be included are all currently unavailable in physical forms and the upcoming release will be their first time shared in physical form.
The deluxe edition will also be available on streaming and digital download. Pre-order for a variety of physical formats is currently open on the My Chemical Romance website. Variants available include an exclusive zoetrope vinyl, various vinyl colors, picture disks, CDs with variant artwork, cassettes, and more. In addition to the deluxe edition release, new Danger Days merch is being released as well.
MCR are touring this summer and a special BL/ind tour edition of the Danger Days (Deluxe Edition) vinyl will be available for purchase at select tour dates between July 10 and October 31.
