Likely gems.

No, June is not over, and there are still several albums worthy of being heard before July begins. In the last week of June alone, Lorde and Motörhead will release new albums, and Bruce Springsteen will put out his second version of his lost albums.

July will be chock-full of new releases, though not quite as many as May and June. Those were the months for musical artists to put out summer records. July, as odd as it sounds, is more about the autumn.

But the three albums below are must-buys. Save your money. They might not all rank among the best ever, but they will almost certainly be entertaining.

Three July albums you are going to want to buy

Wet Leg - moisturizer (July 11)

Catchy rock with loud bursts of bass and pure fun? Who couldn't love a band from the Isle of Wight who is self-aware enough to know they make excellent music, but the point is to entertain? Everyone should.

Two tunes have been dropped from the new record so far, and both are worthy of being on heavy rotation on your playlist. If they are any indication of how the rest of the album will go, we are in for a treat.

Lord Huron - The Cosmic Selector Vol. 1 (July 18)

If you have never listened to Lord Huron, then here is your chance. And if you haven't, you're behind. The band's 2015 album, Strange Tails, sold a million copies. Its 2018 outing, Vide Noir, reached number nine on the Billboard album charts.

The band blends about any genre you might love. Country? Sure. But mostly indie rock and folk. Oh, and throw in some New Age-y stuff, too. Maybe it's all a bit much for many listeners, but the experimentation is worth it.

Plus, the new album features one new song that has actress Kristen Stewart speaking some verses. There is no limit to what Lord Huron will try to do, and love it or hate it, the new record is bound to sound like something you've never heard.

Madonna - Veronica Electronica (July 25)

To be sure, this album does not appear to be one of brand-new material. Instead, it is eight remixes stemming from her 1998 album, Ray of Light. To be fair, these aren't all songs you will hear from that record, however. Some (many?) will be unreleased music.

Does that make it good? Maybe, but it certainly makes the record a must-listen in terms of dance music and mood songs. You can put this one on at a party (it is summer after all) and just stand back and watch. Conversations will pick up, people will begin to move, and, eventually, someone will ask, "Is this a new Madonna album?" and you will answer, "Yes. Sort of."
